Civil Litigation

Terence P. Ruf, Jr. represents individuals, small and medium size businesses, and business professionals in a wide array of civil, commercial and business disputes. Our highly skilled litigators have decades of experience and a proven record of success trying lawsuits in both state and federal courts throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

We recognize that litigation can be costly and time-consuming. Even the simplest case can take months, and even years, to wind its way through the judicial system. Although litigation is sometimes inevitable, it oftentimes is not. We offer a solution-oriented approach focused on the client’s needs and, in every case, we conduct an early evaluation to get a firm grasp of the client’s goals and objectives as well as any areas of exposure. We then craft a strategy to resolve the issue as quickly and efficiently as possible. Where litigation is necessary or inevitable to achieve those goals, we stand ready to zealously represent our clients’ interests through every step of the litigation process and appellate procedures. When litigation is not necessary, we offer substantial expertise in a broad range of alternate dispute resolution solutions, including settlement, mediation, and arbitration.

Terence P. Ruf, primarily practices in Chester County and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in Civil litigation matters, but also has extensive experience handling matters in Montgomery County, Delaware County, Bucks County, and Philadelphia County.

Resolving disputes, not protracting litigation, is of highest importance.  Our clients’ interests are paramount to us, and we will pursue them by the most effective means possible with an eye toward controlling costs and successful outcomes.
